in the beginning, back in the 1990s we resisted the movement to feminized Cannabis seeds. At that time much of our customer base were happy with dioecious plants and in many cases were making their own Cannabis seeds from our base strain Cannabis seeds.
It wasn’t the idea of feminizing Cannabis seeds per se but rather the feminization process at the time and unfortunately still true to this day, led to hermaphroditic plants from the resultant seeds. None-the-less the market was speaking to us and a lot of growers now wanted feminized Cannabis seeds. We decided if we could find a way to feminize seeds that did not produce hermaphroditic plants we would sell feminized Cannabis seeds. We developed our own Cannabis feminization process that absolutely did not produce hermaphroditic Cannabis plants from the resultant seeds; indeed for years and to this day people who want to use the old feminization process to make their own feminized Cannabis seeds complain to us that they can’t make our feminized Cannabis strains turn into hermaphrodite plants. It is beyond rare that a grower can induce enough stress to cause our plants produce hermaphrodite Cannabis flowers.
Our first feminized Cannabis strains were Bubba Kush, OG Kush, Chemdawg and later East Coast Sour Diesel, Trainwreck and G-13.
